about

I recorded this album in one month on an old four track tape machine in the basement of my brother's house. A lot of the lyrics come from Robert Walser's 1917 short story "The Walk" and from my unfinished novel "Rumble Hill."

I played most of the rhythm tracks, and my brothers Conner and Jake played most of the keys and guitar solos. In recording these songs, I tried to emulate the best sounding records I've ever heard, which are mostly from the late '60s and early '70s, and given the limitations of self-recording without much know-how, these songs turned out pretty weird, which I like.
